Welcome to BDB bonsai, we offer high quality bonsai tools and resources for all levels of enthusiasts. If you’ve spent any time at your local nurseries or searching the net for “Bonsai Tools” you will find not only are the options almost endless but the prices can range from a few dollars to hundreds of dollars for a single tool. This can be intimidating to newcomers to the bonsai experience, what is best ? what is the right tool to use ? Can I really afford This ?
My Story
My personal journey with bonsai began in the early 90s while engaged in graduate studies on quaking bogs. I was amazed by the twisted, contorted even tortured forms of larch and white ceder I encountered in many of the locations I studied. I often wondered, can I take some of these wonderful plants home or is there a way to duplicate what nature has done so well.
Sadly, at the time tools and training resources were scarce at best and typically revolved around Junipers and tropical species not local indigenous species.
Times have changed and materials and tools are more common, but there is still no single resource that inexperienced enthusiasts can rely upon to get the basics to succeed.
Our Goal
Our Goal is to be a valued resource to for all levels of aspiring artists by providing the highest quality tools, training and resources that fit all budgets.
